Kids Cancer Foundation Helps Children Head Back To School With Confidence

The Kids Cancer Foundation (KCF) kicked off the new school year on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1 with a weekend full of smiles, support and community, as families impacted by childhood cancer were treated to two special back-to-school events designed to help children feel confident and prepared for the first day of school.

On Friday, families gathered at the Kids Cancer Center in Royal Palm Beach for KCF’s annual Back-to-School Bash, where children received backpacks filled with school supplies, enjoyed fun activities and spent quality time with friends who understand the childhood cancer journey. The celebration offered families an opportunity to connect while ensuring that every child had the essentials needed for a successful school year.

The weekend continued on Saturday with the Back-to-School Shoes Event at the Mall at Wellington Green. Thanks to the generosity and partnership of Life.Church Wellington, children were each given the opportunity to pick out a brand-new pair of shoes for the upcoming school year.

For many families navigating the financial and emotional challenges of childhood cancer, these seemingly simple necessities can make a tremendous difference.

Together, the two events helped ease the financial burden many families face while navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis. By providing backpacks, school supplies and new shoes, the Kids Cancer Foundation continues its commitment to supporting children and families beyond the hospital through programs that address their everyday needs.

The foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Life.Church Wellington, as well as the volunteers, donors and community partners who made the special weekend possible. Their generosity ensured that local children affected by childhood cancer will head back to school with the supplies, confidence and encouragement they need for a successful year ahead.
