Pediatric Oncology Patient Care Navigator Program
A Pediatric Oncology Nurse who helps patients and families navigate their way through the difficult journey of childhood cancer.
Provides education related to diagnosis, treatment and late effects after treatment is completed.
Facilitates emotional and financial assistance.
Collaborates with medical and supportive care providers.
Coordinates local, state and national resources to meet the needs of the patient and family.
Provides community education and awareness.
Financial Assistance
Provides financial assistance for basic needs such as housing, nutrition, transportation, and utilities so families can focus on their child’s healing and well-being.
Child Enrichment Program
Provides age appropriate therapeutic arts and crafts, play and interaction for patients and siblings in the Kids Cancer Center.
Develops and facilitates child enrichment activities and events.
Provides happy memories by hosting End-of-Treatment Celebrations, birthday parties, monthly Kids Nights Out, quarterly Family Socials, and Making Memories Matter experiences.
Mental Health Counseling
Provides adolescent, child and family therapy.
Facilitates various support groups.
Provides bereavement counseling.
Provides equine-assisted therapy.
Education Advocacy Program
Advocates for patients and families with the school system.
Assists with implementing 504 & Individual Education Plans as needed for patients
Coordinates Hospital/Homebound services.
Assists and coordinates school re-entry.
Schedules Neuropsychology testing.
Arranges tutoring for patients and siblings.
Provides ACT and SAT Prep and assists with college applications and scholarships.
KCF Camp
Cost-free Spring Break & Summer Camp for patients and siblings.
Provides a diverse range of activities including art workshops, nature exploration, sports clinics, and educational sessions.
Provides enriching experiences made possible by the numerous local businesses, non-profits, clubs and individuals.
Features speakers and activities designed to inspire and engage young patients and siblings.
Designed and coordinated by the Education Advocate & supported by the Child Enrichment staff.
Family Socials & Kids Nights Out
Free, fun and entertaining events outside of the hospital.
Benefit patients and families by allowing them the opportunity to interact with one another.
Making Memories Matter Program
Provides lasting memories for families in ways of special trips, events and activities.
Professional family photos.
Legacy Bead Program
Allows patients to collect colorful beads that represent their journey through treatment.
